Are there Any Changes on US Online Gambling Scene?

The Lame Duck session in the US is finishing. Are there any possible changes that may influence online gambling? In fact, the situation is pretty tense. The things are so that Senator Harry Reid was trying to push a bill allowing legalization of online gambling. But the matter is that at the end of the day no results were seen and all his efforts were in vain.

You know that Congress passed a quite controversial Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act in 2006. And later on George W. Bush signed the bill according to which online players had to search for the sites that can accept US gamblers, their credit cards and, of course, provide them with secure service. Fortunately, a lot of online sites that offer online gambling tend to be fully safe and rewarding. But, of course, everybody understands that regulated and legalized online gambling industry would be much better for the US players.

As a result, there is a small ray of hope that pro-gambling lobbyists and legislators will get the act together next year and pass the necessary legislation. Perhaps, politicians don`t think that legalized gambling industry will certainly bring huge revenues for the federal government that suffers pretty high deficits in budget system.
