The most famous video poker book writer, Bob Dancer tripled the popularity of video poker itself. His biography is well explained in his book Million Dollar Video Poker, where he reveals the secrets of being a successful video poker player.

The Start

Bob Dancer started as a backgammon player in 1973 when he was 26. In 1980 he got a position of Data Administrator and worked in this job for nine years. Bob went on delving deep into gambling and he became a professional blackjack card counter but blackjack didn't capture his attention that much.

From 1989 to 1994 he committed himself entirely to gambling. It was in these years that Bob discovered video poker, the game that didn't enjoy wide popularity then.

A Video Poker Fairytale

In 1993 Bob took his Taiwanese girlfriend Ginnie Shen to Las Vegas and the same year turned into professional player. In 1994 Dancer met his future wife and this triggered his success in gambling.

Between 1993 and 2000, Bob Dancer took his savings of $6000 and sold an old car and turned this money into $1 million in video poker winnings and a brand new Mercedes. In the 2001 Best of Gaming readers' poll sponsored by Casino Player, Dancer was selected as "Gaming Personality of the Year".

Teaching Career

Since October 1997 Bob Dancer has been giving video poker classes in Las Vegas, holding seminars and writing online columns on video poker for beginners and experts. His first book was published in 2002 and it was called Million Dollar Video Poker. It told about the scheme he used when playing video poker and winning $1,000,000 in a six-month period.

These days Bob Dancer still writes articles and teaches winning video poker strategy. His guides include Video Poker Reports: Deuces Wild, Video Poker Reports: 9/6 Jacks or Better and Video Poker Reports: 10/7 Double Bonus.
